Participation: Designer, Production Management

Client: Ted Boerner Inc.

Scope: Design for production

An upholstery collection of sofas & ottomans informed by the classic Chesterfield. Designed to bring a clean-lined and contemporary perspective to a transitional product line. Both patterns reference traditional tufting: the random quilted pattern a playful take, while abstracted hex shapes bring modern geometry.

Scope: Design for Production

Designed to be a flexible and accessible design, this chameleon adapts as its proportions & hue shift. A modern machined take on the hand carved totem.

Client: Private Client on behalf of Ted Boerner Inc.

Scope: Custom

Designed for a San Francisco gallery owner, this one-of-a-kind seating piece provides the setting for quiet contemplation as well as every day social interactions. Form and materials evolved as we partnered with our client, exploring a shared interest in and admiration of the Japanese traditions of garden viewing.

TAB

Participation: Designer

Client: Rocky Mountain Hardware on behalf of Ted Boerner Inc.

Scope: Licensing

One of three collections of handcrafted cast bronze hardware designed for Rocky Mountain Hardware. Inspired by reductive processes & organic materials, these simple pulls capture the essence of function, use and wear over time. Contrasting rectilinear solids with organic shapes, each pull is scaled to the hand.

Commune

Participation: Designer, Production Development, Production Management

Client: Ted Boerner Inc.

Scope: Design for Production

A dining table collection designed to grow and expand. Simple gestures in veneer patterning and construction merge the traditional with the contemporary. Highly engineered leg/base appears to split and create a passage of light in an otherwise solid leg structure.

Webster Cabinet

Participation: Designer, Project Manager, Production Development

Client: Private client on behalf of Ted Boerner Inc.

Scope: Custom

A multifunctional wall-hung media cabinet. Playing with visual scale, oversized wood grain carving overlies the real wood grain of solid wood panels. Heavily carved doors conceal a plasma television on a lift mechanism and media storage. Deceptively quiet with a strong, grounding presence. A local network of fabrication shops & craftspeople dedicatedly worked to realize this complex assembly of moving panels and mechanical magic.

Gueridon

Participation: Designer, Project Manager, Production Development

Client: Private client on behalf of Ted Boerner Inc.

Scope: Custom

The accompanying piece to the Carved Media Cabinet and at the center of a dramatic curved upholstered sofa, an organic interpretation of Jean Prouvè’s Gueridon Bas rendered in cast bronze and honed granite. The result of close collaboration with a bronze art foundry in California utilizes the lost wax process and traditional patination techniques.

Drift

Participation: Designer, Production Development, Production Manager

Client: Ted Boerner Inc.

Scope: Design for Production

Tailored upholstered bed series created to complement the well-known line of Ted Boerner bed designs. Designed with men’s fashion in mind, this classic silhouette is finely detailed and harmonizes with either casual or formal surrounding depending upon fabric choice. Topstitched seams enhance subtly sculpted curves, outside edges are all radiused and softened to the touch.

Scope: Design for Production

Sculptural upholstery series evoking a relaxed sense of elegance. A showcase of craftsmanship with haberdashery-inspired seams, 8-way hand tied springs, and a sculpted wood frame in the Danish tradition. Made in a small boutique upholstery shop in California.
